Discovery Summer's Got Talent!

This week at Discovery Summer Queen's Gate we had our annual talent show! It was a fantastic afternoon filled with some excellent performances from magic shows to stand up comedy!

After lunch the students got to preparing for the show. This involved getting in to groups, deciding on their talent and working together to plan, script, choreograph and rehearse until showtime! A fantastic way to build their teamwork skills whilst having fun.

All the staff were extremely impressed by the talent and courage of the students, choosing a winner was very tough! But before the champion is revealed, lets take a look at our week 3 projects and presentations.

We had another great week of presentations, however we had to stage them inside due to the rain! Nicola's class combined creativity and drama and displayed what they had learnt over the week in the form of a puppet show- what a great idea!

Alex's class had been looking at the Lion King this week! They wrote and performed their own take on the story which was very well done.

Sharon's class had been looking at architecture, They had designed and built some impressive bridges and icons using the likes of marshmallows, straws and glitter!

As usual we had an impressive performance from our teens, this week, a fashion show! After spending the afternoon at the Hunterian museum, it was very impressive to see our teens come back to display their fantastic creations to the staff and parents. All their outfits were made from recyclable materials, primarily bin bags!

And finally Sally's class were the Kings and Queens of the week! Each student presented to the audience their magical castles!

And the winners are.... After a day of anticipation, it was revealed that the winners of our 2016 talent show are the 'Kill em' with Kindness' girls! The girls had choreographed a fantastic and skillful routine and are deserving winners! Well done!
